Hontai Yoshin Ryu
is a Koryu (traditional) system with a heritage in excess of 400 years old. To date, Hontai Yoshin Ryu has had 19 grandmasters. the current Soke being Inoe Kyoichi Munenori.
Training places emphasis upon physical fitness, flexibility and technique as well as the training of the mind. It is only through the combination of these facets and demonstration of commitment through hard training that one can reach a high level and understanding of Jujitsu.
Jujutsu
Hontai Yoshin Ryu (Ju Jutsu) is a complete and comprehensive scientific based traditional Martial Art. It is 100% logical and effective in its application.
Ju Jutsu literally translates as the "supple art". It employs a wide range of grappling, joint-locking, sweeping and throwing techniques. Pressure-point striking and some degree of ground-fighting is also encompassed.
Kenjutsu
Kenjutsu, which originated with the samurai class of feudal Japan, means "the method, technique or the art of the sword." This is opposed to kendo, which means "the way of the sword"
Kenjutsu is a system of sword fighting techniques designed for use on the battlefields of old Japan and is practiced using wooden swords (for safety) with a partner.
Bojutsu
Bōjutsu is the martial art of using a staff weapon, or bō. and have been in use for hundreds of years of years in Japanese martial arts. Some techniques involve striking, swinging, and stabbing with the staff and is practiced as a counter against the Samurai sword, or katana.
During training, students practice in pairs. The aggressor uses a wooden sword, or bokken and performs various striking methods against the the student defending with the bo.
Iaido
Iaido is a martial art form that began as an off-shoot of kenjutsu. It was developed as a defensive method to counter surprise attacks and enemy raids in fifteenth and sixteenth century Japan. The purpose of iaido was to slay an opponent with one stroke of the sword immediately after unsheathing it.
In order to create such a defense system, surprise attacks scenarios were created as way to use the sword effectively against many forms of attack.
